New fathers may get paternity leave
New fathers could soon be given the right to have two weeks paternity leave.
An initiative to give men a month off will no longer go to a vote after campaigners withdrew the demand - despite collecting enough signatures. Parliament will discuss the compromise of two weeks.
Paternity leave supporters say the initiative has been successful as it started a debate.
New mothers didn’t even get the right to time off after giving birth until 2005.
