Geneva hospital to trial unmanned drone ambulance
Geneva University Hospital has agreed to be involved with the development of an unmanned drone ambulance.
The project also has the backing of the Cantonal Transport Office.
The idea is being spearheaded – and for the moment financed – by the European Transport Commission.
Geneva hospital has eight sites around the canton and is constantly transporting patients between them. A drone that could carry people would make the system far more efficient.
If the idea gets off the ground – it won’t be until 2025.
