A thousand gather in Geneva in memory of boy, 4, found in river
About a thousand people gathered in central Geneva yesterday in memory of a 4-year-old boy who was found dead in the Rhone River near the Verbois dam last week.
The boy’s mother made an emotional speech to the crowd and said authorities failed to heed her warnings about the father – saying it was known he was violent.
He’d been with his father last weekend – he has not been found.
Rumors spread through the crowd during the march on Plainpalais yesterday that the man’s body had been found downstream of the dam.
That has not been confirmed by the police.
UPDATE: Police have now confirmed the body of the father has been recovered from the Rhone.
