Senate discusses introducing higher plane ticket and fuel prices
The Senate is currently discussing new environmental laws which may mean higher priced plane tickets and fuel.
A previous proposal was rejected by the House of Representatives last year. It had become so weak after several amendments, it was thrown out.
This time there are hopes that more public pressure means parliament will take action.
The Senate has already agreed new building codes bringing in restrictions on heating systems. Homes and work places are responsible for 25% of all carbon emissions in the country.
