Geneva airport sees busiest summer ever
Despite environmental protests and calls for people to stop flying – Geneva airport had its busiest summer ever.
Although there was a small decline in passenger numbers in the spring, summer flying was popular. In June alone 1.5 million people flowed through Geneva – up almost 6% on the previous year. In July and August there were 2.5% more passengers than last year.
The airport says the increased numbers reflect demographic changes and a growing economy.
