Euroairport bomb scare highlights airport design flaw
Several passengers missed their flights at Basel Euroairport last night due to a bomb scare.
The airport is regularly evacuated due to unattended luggage because of the design.
The scare was again a false alarm.
The latest evacuation is one of many over the past few months – and each time the terminal has to be emptied. In comparison, Zurich airport has several cases of left luggage everyday – but passengers rarely notice as there are alternatives to evacuation.
Euroairport officials are worried business could suffer unless the left luggage problem is tackled.
