Parliament boosts tourism subsidies to CHF 390m
Parliament has overruled the government and boosted the amount of money available for the tourist industry.
The government had earmarked CHF 373m for tourist subsidies, bur parliament has been swayed to increase that amount to CHF 390m.
The tourism is worth nearly 3% of the Swiss economy and employs 175,000 people.
The sector is warning it's suffering due to the global uncertainty and the strong franc.
