The woman, now 56 years old, had her wallet stolen in 1988. She had forgotten the incident until police gave it back to her.

It was found in a ventilation shaft in an underground car park during renovation work.

The wallet still contained bank cards, parking vouchers and public transport tickets. Although any cash was gone.

It’s in surprisingly good condition.
