Austria examines possible criminal charges against Swiss border officers
Austrian authorities are examining if Swiss customs agents are guilty of a criminal offence after press reports revealed they had been conducting observation operations in the country.
Blick newspaper revealed yesterday Swiss agents had been spying on customers going to cannabis shops in Austria and noting the licence plates.
A spokesman for Austrian police say they are checking if a criminal offence has been committed and have complained to Bern. The spokesman made it clear, it is not being considered a trivial matter.
The investigation could lead to charges against the Swiss customs officers.
