Hopes for better autoroute journeys
A joint autoroute body for French speaking Switzerland should help to make journeys smoother and save money.

The cantons of Geneva, Vaud and Fribourg have agreed to set up a separate group to run the roads. The hope is better coordination will mean fewer road works at the same time and easier drives.
Although the three cantons agreed to the idea at the beginning of the year, the body only met for the first-time last week.
It brings together a work force of around 200 that look after 300km of roads and should save around CHF 3m a year.
