Nuclear worker faces criminal charges
A worker at a nuclear power plant is to face criminal charges after allegedly falsifying results from radiation detection equipment.
The worker at the Leibstadt station in canton Aargau is accused of forging the test results of several hundred detectors between 2016 and 2018.
No issues were found with detectors being checked by other staff members.
Federal nuclear inspectors say they’ve also made recommendations to make sure there are no repeats of the problem.
The power plant opened in 1984 and generates around a sixth of all electricity in the country.
