A major storm swept across the country overnight bringing heavy rain, high winds and hail.

The strongest winds were in Würenlingen in canton Aargau at 125 kph and the heaviest rain in Sattel in Schwyz with 41.3mm.

More than 1,500 bolts of lightning were counted in Zurich alone. There’s been more than 77,000 strikes this year so far. In 2015 there were a record 91,000. Meteorologists say they expect that record to be broken this year.

The rest of the week looks likely to be unsettled with more rain and some storms.
