Stats show border-crossing workers on the rise
The number of cross border workers is continuing to grow.
New figures from the Federal Statistics Office show across the country, over 320,000 enter to work.
The biggest number is for those living in France into the Geneva/Vaud region. Over 120,000 make the daily trip. That’s a rise of more than 3%. Also up is the number of Italian residents working in Ticino.
On the flip side, the number coming in from Germany is down by a percent at 66,000.
The rising numbers reverse a blip from last year which showed a decline in cross-border working.
