Swiss Railways to compensate elderly man dragged along tracks
The Federal Court has upheld a lower court ruling that Swiss Railways has to pay CHF 35,000 to an 89-year-old man who was pushed in front of a train.
The incident dates back to 2016 at the Affoltern am Albis station in canton Zurich.
The elderly man was pushed by a drug addict who was mentally ill. Another court sentenced him to a secure treatment centre.
The court ruled railway law made the company liable.
The victim suffered serious injuries when he was dragged several metres along the tracks.
