Foreign ministry warns travellers to avoid Kashmir
The Swiss foreign ministry has hardened its warning to travellers to the disputed Indian administered area of Kashmir.
The Indian government has removed the area’s special autonomy which has led to tensions.
The Swiss advice has always been to avoid the state of Jammu and Kashmir – but now that advice has been strengthened, saying the risk of terror attacks and crime is high.
The ministry also adds to stay away from areas close to the Pakistan border.
