Lightning strikes golfer during violent storm
Many parts of the country are recovering from the storms yesterday.
In Bern, a golfer was hit by lightning yesterday afternoon. He was playing on a course in Saanenmoser in the Oberland. Course officials had called all players to the clubhouse as the storm approached, but the victim decided to stay out. He’s been taken to hospital. His condition is unclear.
In other areas in the Oberland, strong winds and rain wrecked campsites, damaged cars and uprooted trees. Witnesses say the storm was short – but violent.
Areas of canton Ticino were flooded as heavy rain fell. Roads were closed and many businesses and homes were damaged.
