UK-Swiss information sharing agreement signed in case of no-deal Brexit
The Swiss Justice Minister Karin Keller-Sutter has signed an agreement with the UK which guarantees the two countries will continue to share police and security information even in the case of a no-deal Brexit.
Keller-Sutter travelled to London and met the UK Home Secretary Sajid Javid.
If the UK leaves the EU without a deal, all information shared on the Schengen database will have to be deleted.
The agreement also covers workers in the two countries – but only lasts until the end of 2020 if there’s no deal with the EU.
Switzerland has many agreements with the EU and is a member of the Single Market, so any deal with the EU after Brexit will also apply in this country.
