Hiker injured by 'nail trap'
A woman has been seriously injured after treading on a nail while hiking – and police believe the trap was set deliberately.
The walker was with a friend near Buchs in Sankt Gallen when she stepped on nail which had been driven through a piece of wood and then covered with leaves. She needed medical treatment and a doctor gave her a tetanus shot.
She believes the device was designed to stop motorcycles.
Sankt Gallen police are investigating and have searched for further nail traps – but have not found any so far.
