Lake Geneva storm death friend of Swedish Queen
It’s been revealed the woman who drowned in Lake Geneva during Saturday’s intense storm was a friend of the Swedish Queen.
Ann-Christine Wallenberg was 68 years old.
The Swedish press says King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia have been informed. Their daughter Princess Madeleine lived with Wallenberg for a while a few years ago.
Her brother, Stefan Magnusson, says he believes his sister was caught up in ropes on the sailing boat and was unable to swim to safety when the storm hit.
A spokeswoman for the Swedish royal household says the death is very tragic.
