Younger voters drive gains for environmental parties
In the run-up to parliamentary elections in October, environmental parties are performing strongly in the polls.
The Green Party is up 3% from the 2015 elections – now at over 10% and the smaller more centrist party of the Green Liberals are also showing gains, up almost 2% at 6.4%.
The gains are being driven by younger voters. The latest figures are published by the Sotomo Research Institute.
In addition to the environment, Switzerland’s future relationship with the European Union is also high on the list of concerns.
