5G 'resistance' group vandalises Swisscom car
A car owned by Swisscom has been vandalized in Basel by a group opposed to the expansion of the 5G network.
Windows were smashed and the car daubed with the slogan, “5G Resistance”.
The new high-speed network is opposed by some as it’s felt the new transmitters are a health risk.
A spokesman for Swisscom says its not an uncommon reaction to new technology and points out there was similar arguments in 2004 with the roll out of 3G.
All mobile networks are currently expanding 5G coverage which is already available in all major Swiss cities.
