Armed teenager threatens students at Solothurn school
A teenager has been arrested after allegedly threatening students at a school in the canton of Solothurn with an unspecified weapon.
Police were called to the school in Büren around midday yesterday, triggering a major operation to safeguard the pupils and to track down the teenager who is believed to have threatened them. The suspect had already fled from the school by the time police arrived. Thankfully, no one was hurt.
Police reinforcements from the neighbouring canton of Basel Country were called in to help find the suspect. A teenager was arrested three hours after the incident and is being questioned by police. The school buildings have been placed under surveillance.
