Swiss and French police make arrests in armoured truck raid
Swiss and French police have made a series of arrests in connection with a brutal attack on an armored truck in February last year in canton Vaud.
The robbers are thought to have got away with up to CHF 15m.
The gang kidnapped the 22-year-old daughter of one of the truck drivers and then demanded he pulled into a layby. Masked men then grabbed the cash and escaped in a Porsche.
In total 15 people are now in custody. French police made 13 arrests around the Lyon area and there were 2 arrests at the same time in Switzerland.
One of the suspects tried to escape by throwing himself out of a third story window. He suffered broken bones.
Police say all are already known to them. They also recovered some cash and a weapon.
