Attorney General faces more questions over private meetings
The embattled Swiss Attorney General is facing further questions after weekend press reports suggest he held private meetings regarding the ongoing Petrobas corruption inquiry.
Michael Lauber is also accused of having undocumented meetings with the world football body FIFA.
Yesterday’s NZZ newspaper reports Lauber met with defendants in the Brazilian probe – and didn’t publish any minutes.
The Attorney General says it’s necessary to have informal meetings as part ongoing investigations.
Some MPs are now calling for him to be replaced – saying his position is no longer tenable.
