Convicted pedophile denied Swiss benefits in Cambodia
A federal court is backing a decision by social services not to pay benefits to a Swiss man who’s living in Cambodia. He’s a convicted pedophile. He’s also appealing deportation.
The unnamed 72-year-old applied for benefits three years ago. He says he’s unemployed and cannot find work in Cambodia.
Authorities say they can’t support someone who’s living illegally in another country.
The man argued living in Cambodia is far cheaper and he can’t afford to live in Switzerland. The court rejected that argument.
He could still appeal to the Supreme Court.
