Coop apologises to man buying birthday croissants
The supermarket chain Coop has apologized to a customer who was stopped by a store manager as he was buying too many croissants.
It was the customer’s birthday and he thought he would buy everyone in his office breakfast. So, he was picking out around 20 croissants from the shelves from the small Pronto shop in Biel.
The manager told him he couldn’t buy so many – but the customer says the manager was aggressive and suggested he may be attempting to steal.
A spokesman for the chain says it is better to place an advance order for multiple orders as the shop is small and designed for those who want to make a quick purchase.
