German skiers killed in Valais avalanche
Four skiers have been killed in an avalanche in the Alps on Friday.
The group of German skiers left a mountain hut in canton Valais in the morning near the Aletsch Glacier.
They were swept away by the avalanche. Poor weather hindered rescue operations and their bodies weren’t recovered until Saturday morning.
Authorities say the avalanche alerts are moderate, but the weather can change very quickly at this time of year.
