Young drivers more prone to car accidents
Younger drivers are more likely to have an accident.
There are around 37 deaths on Swiss roads every year caused by drivers aged between 18 and 26.
The Office of Accident Prevention says it’s due to inexperience and immaturity. Many younger people overestimate their abilities and engage in risky behavior.
The office says there needs to be more training to raise the awareness of speed and distraction.
A law change at the beginning of the year means 17 year olds can now get behind the wheel if accompanied by a qualified driver.
