On Saturday hundreds gathered in the cantonal capital to protest against racism.

Marching under the banner of ‘Schwyz is Colourful’ the crowd was motivated after a group of local men walked the streets dressed as Ku Klux Klan members during the Fasnacht celebrations a few weeks ago.

The marchers included families and children.

But clashes broke out between anti-fascists and right-wing extremists. Police managed to separate the two groups and escorted many of the protestors, who had travelled to the demonstration, back to the train station.
