Alpine glaciers could be gone by 2100
In just 80 years all the glaciers in the Alps could be gone. That’s according to research by the University of Zurich.
The study found globally 335 billion tonnes of glacial ice melts every year. At that rate there will be no more mountain glaciers by the end of the century.
The team used data from the World Glacier Monitoring Service which looks at 19,000 glaciers.
