Paperweight turns out to be hand grenade
An office in Winterthur had to be evacuated on Monday when what was thought to be a paperweight turned out to be a live hand grenade.
It had been on a desk in a real estate office for the last several years. Experts have identified it as a German grenade from the First World War.
An investigation determined the ignition mechanism was inactive, but the explosives were intact.
It has been destroyed in a controlled explosion.
