More drivers suspended for drug use
More and more drivers are losing their licence for driving while under the influence of drugs. Between 2012 and last year the annual rate almost doubled at 4,600 according to the TCS.
The accident prevention group, BfU, says around 150 serious accidents a year are caused by drugs.
The drug advice group, Eve and Rave, says stimulants are now very popular at parties and users fail to realize how their perception is compromised and believe, wrongly, they can’t be detected by police. They point out evidence of drug use can last for days in the blood.
