Foreign firms still setting up in Switzerland
Switzerland is still proving attractive to foreign firms. Last year 282 companies set up offices in the country, creating nearly 1,000 new jobs.
The new companies appear not to be put off as the country rebalances its tax laws to bring it into line with rules set by the OECD.
The international organization says Switzerland has to stop the practice of offering perks for multinationals – all companies have to be treated the same.
The new firms are mainly from information and communications and life sciences sectors.
The government says its spending CHF 373m on promoting the country.
