Trace blood leaves man with 5 year robbery sentence
A man has been sentenced to 5 years in prison after a robbery at a bank in canton Valais in 2015, just because he left behind a small drop of blood.
The 37-year-old man was described as dangerous by the court in Monthey.
In June 2015 he was involved in an attack on two cash machines at a bank in Bouveret and got away with CHF 650,000. The money has not been recovered.
In the getaway, the gang torched two cars to mask their escape. But he left behind some blood which linked him to the crime after he was arrested for another offence in Spain.
The man maintains his innocence and plans to appeal.
