Lausanne student likely left brain dead after parasol strike
A young student is in a coma and doctors doubt she’ll ever regain consciousness after being struck by a parasol in Lausanne.
The 22-year-old was on the campus of the University of Lausanne when an open parasol was caught up in 120 kph winds and struck the woman on the head.
She’s been in a coma for the last three days and medics believe she’s brain dead.
Her father is criticizing the university, saying it was madness to have a parasol open in such weather.
The vice-rector says the university will cooperate in any investigation.
