New Swiss car rule in Italy leaves frontier workers fuming
Frontier workers in Ticino are fuming at new Italian rules which forbid them driving a Swiss registered car in Italy.
This is causing a major problem for workers who have a company car.
Those breaking the rules face a fine in the thousands.
The Swiss government has confirmed it has raised the issue with the Italian government and talks are continuing.
An MP, Fabio Regazzi, who is also a business owner in Ticino, says he can’t understand why the Italians are being difficult as 65,000 Italian residents work in Switzerland.
