Muslims demonstrate in Geneva against Islamophobia
Around 200 Muslims demonstrated on the Place des Nations in Geneva yesterday, demanding more protection in the wake of the Christchurch shooting in New Zealand.
Islamic groups say there needs to be stricter laws against Islamophobia and tighter security at mosques.
They also condemn media coverage. Hani Ramadan, the director of the Islamic Centre in Geneva, says the constant discussion of veiled women and steady anti-Islamic reporting only serves to inspire those with violent tendencies.
The protestors laid out 50 prayer mats in honor of each of the victims.
