Algerian president flies home after Geneva hospital stay
The aging president of Algeria, 82-year-old Abdelaziz Bouteflika, has flown back home after being treated for the last two weeks at the Geneva Cantonal Hospital.
His stay prompted demonstrations against his rule outside the building.
He suffered a stroke in 2013 and has only been seen rarely in public since.
His rule is also being fought in Algeria after Bouteflika announced he will run for election in April for a fifth term.
An Algerian government jet arrived in Geneva yesterday to take him home.
