Most driving licences lost due to speeding
More than 200 people lose their driving licence every day in Switzerland.
The main reason is speeding and then driving while intoxicated.
But that number is down on last year by about 6%.
The figures are from the Federal Roads Office.
They also show around 20,000 last year were banned from driving in Switzerland as they were using foreign licences which were no longer valid. Swiss residents have a year to change their licence to a Swiss one.
Six million people have a car licence in the country. That’s a rise of 1% from the previous year.
