Parliament raises annual healthcare payout
Parliament has raised the minimum amount patients will have to pay before insurance kicks in.
The deductible amount has been set at CHF 350 a year, a rise of CHF 50.
It’s hoped the hike will reduce health costs and discourage the inessential use of medical products.
The move is being fought by left wing parties who are threatening to force the issue to a referendum.
Switzerland has one of the most expensive health systems in the world.
