The 75-year-old was crossing the tracks near the Uerkenbrücke station when the train was approaching. The driver slammed on the emergency brakes and the train hit the man at a fairly low speed. He suffered minor head injuries.

Police say the train driver’s quick reactions probably saved the man’s life. Investigations are underway.
