Sunbeds and laser pointers will be restricted under new laws due to come into force in June.

After that date it will be illegal for anyone under 18 to use a sunbed due to the risk of skin cancer. Solariums will have to display prominent signs to warn of the dangers.

Also, powerful laser pointers will be banned. Any above the Class 1 range will be illegal. The government says even a Class 2 laser can damage eyesight.

In addition, staff at beauty salons using laser devices will have to be suitably qualified.
