Lake Geneva floating research station installed
Scientists have installed a floating research station on Lake Geneva.
The platform is packed with sensors to measure temperature, water flow, the wind and how much oxygen is in the water.
Researchers say the data will allow for long term measurements to check for environmental changes.
The station is off the shore at Pully – where the waters are 140 meters deep. It’s planned to be there for the next 10 years at least.
Locals had complained, as it has a large exclusion zone around it to stop boats and divers. But courts gave the go ahead 2 years ago.
