First female fighter pilot qualifies
Switzerland has its first female fighter jet pilot.
Fanny Chollet is 28 and from Canton Vaud.
She’s been in training for the last six years and has now qualified to fly FA 18s.
It was only in 2004 that the law was changed to allow women to fly fighters in the Air Force.
The Air Force hopes the news of a new female pilot will persuade others to follow her. It needs to recruit 6 new fighter pilots every year.
