Australian visitor faces jail for 2015 speeding
Swiss police never forget.
A 56-year-old Australian man is facing jail for speeding in canton Zug back in 2015.
Three years ago, he rented a sports car and was flashed at 107 kph in a 50 zone. He then left the country.
At the end of last month, he returned and was immediately arrested at passport control at Geneva airport. He had to pay a deposit of CHF 8,000 just to stay out of jail. He can’t leave the country until a court hearing and he could be sentenced to a year locked up.
