Safest service station in Switzerland robbed
A service station dubbed the safest in Switzerland has been robbed.
The station in canton Ticino is right next to a police station and has 12 surveillance cameras.
Despite that, two bungling robbers did escape with some cash – although they dropped much of it.
The petrol station on the main cantonal road in Caslano was even full of customers at the time.
On Sunday evening, two young men entered, threatened the cashier with a knife and stuffed cash in their pockets, as they fled banknotes flew across the road. They tried to grab the money – but much was left behind. The manager says the men were very nervous and clearly inexperienced. They didn’t get away with much money.
Police are investigating.
