Nuclear power plant safety worries inspectors
Nuclear inspectors say they’ve uncovered a worrying lack of safety protocols at the Leibstadt power plant near Zurich.
A worker has been found entering false test results into logs designed to make sure radiation detectors are working properly. The devices are supposed to be tested twice a year – but haven’t been checked since 2016.
Despite the failure, inspectors say there was not a threat – but they are demanding an improvement in the safety culture at the plant.
