National News // By Tay Kinnear // Jan. 30, 2019

A court case in Geneva is likely to be scrapped as the judge fell asleep on the bench.

The case is an appeal after a 12-year-old girl was raped and murdered in Carouge back in 2012. The girl’s mother’s boyfriend was convicted and sentenced to 20 years in jail.

The man has always maintained his innocence, and launched an appeal.

Other judges unconnected with the case will now decide if it could continue or should start again or even be referred to a federal court.
