French fighter missing after Jura crash
A French fighter jet has crashed near the Swiss border – and the pilot and navigator are currently missing.
French defence officials say the Mirage 2000 was on a training mission and had taken off from an airfield near Nancy.
It was last seen on radar over the Jura mountains near Geneva at 11am yesterday. News agencies report debris has been found in the village of Mignovillard in the Jura département.
The French Air Force says a search for the crew, a man and a woman, is underway. Authorities also add the jet was unarmed.
