Trams attacked along line crossing into France
Basel trams running on lines into neighbouring France are being attacked.
For the last several weeks the trams have had missiles thrown at them while traveling on a stretch of line servicing stations in France.
The local transport company is now paying for extra security.
Guards will be on the trams on Friday and Saturday nights. To save costs, some trams will now stop at the border.
The section of line in France was only opened a year ago and runs for three kilometers.
